Robert A. Perlman
Mr. Perlman is a seasoned expert in Operational Risk Management with deep expertise in Business Continuity Management, Enterprise Risk Management, and Crisis Management. Until recently, Mr. Perlman led Booz Allen Hamilton’s Commercial Resilience practice. In this capacity, Mr. Perlman served as client relationship manager and program manager for a variety of global Fortune 100 clients in life sciences, consumer and media, financial services, and infrastructure verticals. Capabilities included program management, strategic risk assessments, implementation of governance programs, program planning/implementation as well as testing/training/exercising. He was responsible for development of new intellectual property in the area of Business Continuity Management and Enterprise Risk Management.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, Mr. Perlman was the Managing Director of Marsh McLennan’s Corporate Preparedness Division, where he was responsible for global client relationship management for a variety of industry verticals—with a heavy concentration in life sciences. In this role, Mr. Perlman was responsible for:
· Formulation of corporate preparedness policies and procedures· Risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
· Business continuity and crisis management plans.
· Directing the Division’s marketing and sales strategies as well as business development and relationship management activities for all global accounts, including establishing international capabilities in London, Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Mexico City, Tokyo, and Shanghai, including the recruitment and training of senior consultants.
· Rationalized service offerings to focus on core practice competencies: capabilities reviews, planning, training, and exercising.
· Raised external visibility with key prospects through establishment of event marketing programs and symposiums that focused on emerging global risks such as Pandemics and Climate Change.
Mr. Perlman co-founded and was Managing General Partner of Aegis Management LLC, a corporate assurance and resilience consultancy founded to capitalize on growing need for integrated, “all hazards” solutions. This business was sold to March McLennan in 2002. In this role, Mr. Perlman:
· Developed resilience programs to enhance client capabilities in business continuity, crisis preparedness and management, crisis communications, and issues management.
· Through use of multi-year program plan, supported clients in the development and conduct of planning, training, and exercising activities.
Prior to founding Aegis, Mr. Perlman was an executive for a number of years at Sterling Health, an Eastman Kodak subsidiary, where he held a variety of increasingly responsible positions.
