Phil Gledhill has over 30 years of experience in operational risk management in banking, treasury and capital markets operations. As Director of Operational Risk consulting practice at IMAG, Phil brings extensive hands-on experience in managing operational risks for financial institutions.

Phil is the former VP and Manager of Operational Risk at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in the US where he created an ongoing self assessment process to cover over 50 domestic and international banking departments and outer branch operations using a variety of operational review criteria. Previously he headed Operations and Compliance at Leonia Bank plc and held several management positons in the financial control and banking services groups at IBJ Schroder. For several years he chaired the International Financial Services Association Risk Management Committee and is an expert in Basel II requirements and methodolgies.

Phil holds a BA degree in Economics from Colby College and an MBA degree in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business. He is an active industry speaker regarding operational risk management and risk self-assessment and was awarded a Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA) by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), as well an International Certificate in Banking Risk and Regulation by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). He has published articles on risk management in the Risk Management Association Journal.
